The 2011 Chevrolet Suburban 2500 was the final model year of the tenth generation of the Suburban. The Suburban is one of the longest-running automotive nameplates still in production, with a heritage that stretches all the way back to the 1930s. Over the years, the Suburban has become an iconic American vehicle, known for its ruggedness, durability, and spacious interior. The 2011 Suburban 2500 was the last of its kind and a true classic, combining the best of modern technology with reliable old-school engineering.

The 2011 Suburban 2500 was offered in two trim levels, LS and LT. Both models featured GM’s 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine, producing a respectable 367 horsepower and 375 lb-ft of torque. The engine was mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, with rear-wheel drive as standard and four-wheel drive available as an option. The ride was smooth and stable, thanks to the independent front suspension and rigid rear axle.

The 2011 Suburban 2500 was equipped with an impressive array of features and technologies. The LS model featured air-conditioning, power windows and locks, cruise control, and a 6-speaker audio system with CD player. The LT model added heated leather seats, a Bose sound system, and a navigation system. Both models had a generous amount of cargo space, with a maximum of 137.4 cubic feet of cargo capacity. Safety features included dual front airbags, ABS brakes, and traction control.

Driving Impression

The 2011 Suburban 2500 was a joy to drive. The Vortec V8 provided plenty of power and torque, and the 4-speed automatic transmission shifted smoothly. The ride was comfortable and quiet, and the handling was surprisingly nimble for such a large vehicle. The brakes were strong and the steering was well-weighted, making this a vehicle that was pleasant to drive in a variety of road conditions.

Pros & Cons

The 2011 Suburban 2500 had a lot going for it. It was a powerful and reliable vehicle, with a spacious interior and plenty of cargo space. The ride was smooth and the handling was surprisingly capable. The only real downside was the fuel economy, which was an unimpressive 14 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. However, given the size and power of the Suburban 2500, this was to be expected.
